In June 2023, my wife and I awarded the contract for renovating our home to CK Builder & Consultancy Pte Ltd. The built-up area of our home is around 460 square meters. The renovations were to revise the layout of the internal space of the house, refresh the interior design and replace the building services.
Nigel, the founder of the firm assembled a good team for the work. He deployed his son Nicholas as the project manager. We were impressed with their planning of the work which took into account the properties of the finishes, components and materials specified for the work. In particular, the team was careful in selecting skilled workers from Malaysia to attend to the more intricate aspects of finishing and joinery work. They are thoroughly familiar with the capacity and sizing of the building services equipment and ensure that the components are sourced from suppliers who are equally committed to quality. Once an area of work is completed, the team ensured that the completed work was properly protected from maintained.
TOP for the works was achieved in May 2024, at the time of writing, we are still in the midst of the defects liability period (DLP). However, Nicholas remained attentive during this time and is responsive to addressing the issues encountered during handover.
The approach of the team demonstrates a clear commitment to good practice and the best traditions of the construction industry. We are confident that with respect to this category of home building and remodeling, there are very few Singapore who can attain their level of diligence and expertise.

Anne and I wish to pen a note of appreciation for your contributions to the success of our home.
We recognize your strength in planning ahead and keeping to a tight timeline. It resulted in several timely pre-emptive efforts you had taken while working around the old and new structures. We realize that some sticky challenges required creative solutions.
The standout glass bottom mezzanine is an outstanding attraction. Your men did a good job with this structure, while also ensuring compliance to load bearing requirements. Your personal involvement in the issues of proper drain construction, ponding in the garden, and the telephone and optical fiber wire installation, reflected your strong commitment to professionalism and customer satisfaction. You even personally helped to resolve the faucet design issue in the MBR bathroom.
Nigel, I wish to commend in particular your willingness to attend to our requirements readily. I remember asking you late on Friday evening, to help in mounting the Rehoboth sign on the driveway display wall. You personally came down on Saturday morning to fix the sign. You knew it was important and relevant for us to have the sign up before we moved into the house on Sunday. For that, we are immensely grateful.
Thank you for making our renovation journey far removed from the nightmares we have heard from many other homeowners. The journey went smoothly and we dare say, it was an enjoyable one. We commend CK Builder’s professional outlook. Your dedicated efforts have resulted in a lovely home we enjoy everyday.

We were searching for a good and reliable builder/contractor for an extensive renovation to our 30 year old home, after abandoning plans to rebuild during the Covid lockdown, being stuck out in a rental property meantime. (We needed to change all plumbing and electrical cables, renovate all toilets, wet and dry kitchens and re-tiling of our ground floor and adding off rooms.)
Connecting with Nigel, right after Covid lockdown was lifted, was indeed God sent; he came by strong recommendation of our architect friend who had worked previously with him. Recognizing our need for timely completion, Nigel and Carlos worked quickly on our specifications and quotation and within les than a month, work started on site.
Kudos to Nigel, Carlos and their team for not only managing post-Covid restrictions and neighbors, they delivered on time and according to agreed budget. They brought us samples of materials and pointed us to reliable sources (For tiles, sanitary ware etc.) In fact, they were the ones “chasing’ us rather than the usual other way round. Nigel also made many suggestions improving on our ideas. With the restrictions, we made minimal visits but an architect neighbor informed us that Nigel was on site every day to supervise.
Their quality of work surpassed all our expectations and our “new” house was returned to us in pristine move in condition. Since moving back, we have not had to call Nigel back for any touch up or repair as his work was impeccable. My Family is very grateful to Nigel, Carlos and their team for their professionalism and dedication and would highly recommend them.

Even throughout this very difficult Covid period, you and your team have gone out of the way to ensure that everything was executed with care and in a timely manner. Many times we were concerned about the completion when we heard stories of other projects stopping midway due to uncommitted contractors. You have been sincere to your commitments, and have been able to uphold a standard of quality that brings many praises from friends and families visiting our home.
